Profile Info: "During exploration of barrier islands off the coast of Brazil by a group of undergraduate biology majors from the State Univerersity of Campinas, the students and professors came across a specimen that they had never seen before. In some ways, it resembled a turtle that stands on two high legs with sharp spikes covering its protective shell. The students named it Tyda. Overwhelmed with excitement, the students rushed to bring one back to their university. After stepping off the boat, they noticed the entire harbor was crawling with Tydas. It seems as though the colony, in a fit of curiosity, followed the students to the mainland."
